Helping to build a strong community

Pembroke Dock Town Council Semper Fidelis Town Council Crest

Pembroke Dock Town Council members work closely with organisations and individuals within the Community.

Pembroke Dock Festival Group provide festivals for members of the local community twice a year, they hold a Mid summer festival during June and a Winter Lantern Parade in December.

Friends of Pembroke Dock Memorial Park are a group which has formed to regenerate play equipment in the memorial park, they have been successful with the recent creation of the BMX track, skate park and further play equipment for the younger children of the community. The group are currently looking at funding sources to ensure the proposals go ahead.

Pater Hall Community Trust

A number of years ago the Town Council decided the best way forward for the Pater Hall was that a Community Trust would lease and run the building.  This means that the Trust, which is also a Registered Charity, has better access to Grants than the Town Council has and partnership with various groups which use the facilities at the hall ensure good governance for the benefit of the community.  To date over £400,000 has been generated in Grants and with the Town Council also providing generous backing, there have been many improvements.

The Trustees are made up of five Town Councillors and five Community Trustees and are charged with providing the best possible use of the Main Hall and the other 3 function rooms.

Bookings for the hall can be made on 01646 622788.

Pennar and Bufferland Community Association

This thriving organisation arranges many functions for the residents of Pennar and Bufferland and meet on a monthly basis as a forum for public opinion on planning matters and other areas of public concern.

Pennar Community Hall

This committee works hand in hand with the Residents Association but focuses on the facilities of the Hall.  There is a Hall seating 120 and a small committee room also available.

To book Pennar Hall please contact Maggie Wilcox on 01646 621942.

The hall has an external noticeboard where community groups and individuals are welcome to place posters and notices.  To do so, please contact Liz Cook, Trustee on 01646 621811.

St John's Community Hall

This is another excellent Community Hall providing a range of facilities from a Hall to a meeting room.  Many grants have been obtained and much hard work gone into providing services for the community.

Pembroke Borough Silver Band

The band has always been a big part of Pembroke Dock since it was founded in 1953 and is much loved and respected for it's participation in all the town's big parades.  It has been supported financially by the Town Council for many years with regular grants and some of the band's surplus instruments are stored in the council offices.
