What is Pembrokeshire Greenways?
Pembrokeshire Greenways is an initiative which has been working for over 10 years to encourage local resident and visitors of all abilities, to access the coast and countryside by sustainable modes of transport through walking, cycling, bus and train travel.
"Greenways" was the first of its kind to be developed in Wales and was established in 1994 as a Countryside Council for Wales pilot project in South Pembrokeshire, under the management of SPARC (now PLANED), an EU-funded Leader Plus initiative.
Due to it's success, the Greenways Project was extended to cover the whole of Pembrokeshire in 2000 under the management of the Greenways Partnership.
Greenways partners include the following organisations:
Countryside Council for Wales
Hywel Dda University Health Board
National Public Health Service
National Trust
Pembrokeshire Access Group
Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority
Pembrokeshire County Council
and PLANED.
